II. Institutional Membership
There are two routes to the individual membership of the institute –

By Prior Certification & Training – one has to complete CPA Certification & training to become eligible for membership of The Association. Applicant has to pass exams & complete ethics training and after which one can get membership under affiliate category

By Experience and other professional qualifications- under this route, considering their existing experience and prior learning, members of the following professional accounting bodies enjoy direct Affiliate/ Associate/ Fellow level of membership of The Association of CPA's -

Or any other CPA body or IFAC member body having equivalent level of examination standard

Eligibility conditions for various type of memberships of The Association -

Basic Condition that all applicants must satisfy are -
-
​Applicant should be of 21 years of age
-
Applicant should be of sound mind
-
Applicant should be of good moral character and has not been at any time convicted for any offence
-
Applicant should not be declared as bankrupt
-
And applicant must hold relevant qualification in accounting and finance
( Relevant qualification any bachelors or masters or diploma or advance diploma or post graduate or similar vocational or professional level award or certificate ​involving knowledge and applications of concepts in-​Financial Accounting, Auditing & Assurance,Financial Management, Management Accounting, Taxation Laws, Business Laws, Information Technology & Systems, Professional Ethics

2. Affiliate Membership - In addition to basic conditions stated above one have to qualify at the professional examination conducted by the Institute
3. Associate Membership - Any person who has been or meets the condition of being an affiliate
member of the Institute and have acquired professional experience of three years can become associate member
4. Fellow Member- Any person who has been or meets the condition of being an associate member of the Institute and have acquired professional experience of more than five years can become fellow member
5. Academic Member- Any person who has functioned at an academic or training institute of repute at a level not below the rank of a Professor/ Associate Professor in Accounts, Audit, Taxation and Finance related area. Or in addition to above is a member of professional accountancy organization or professional qualification holder from reputable institute
6. Honorary Member- The Institute may confer honorary membership to distinguish excellence, innovation and research scholars for the service to the profession of accountancy, finance & taxation and allied fields upon any other institute or professional qualification holder from reputable institute. This membership is only given by the invitation and will be given on the recommendation of the Central Council -

7. Institutional Membership- Institutional Member means any member admitted by the association for facilitation of collaboration or agreement or scheme, it may be offered to an individual or body/ institute/firm
or company as the case may be.
